Portland, Oregon Welcomes Unique Condo Project As It Nears Completion

While most investors were scrapping condo projects left and right, investors in the K4 Court multifamily housing development decided to hang on. And the unique design might just work in the environmentally conscience part of the Pacific Northwest.

Situated in the hip, up and coming part of Northeast Portland, the K4 Court is the brainchild of developer Marlon Basel and architect John Froning. The concrete stucco and wood plank design is certified Earth Advantage platinum and is one of the more unique condo projects in the state of Oregon.

Inspired by the Courtyard Housing Competition, the development is basically two separate duplexes separated by a patio with a raised wooden walkway. The project contains three two bedroom, two bathroom units and one studio unit. The two bedroom units are approximately 1,400 square feet, while the studio is just over 1,000 square feet. Sustainable finishes are also part of the project. They used items such as recycled car windows for shower glass and used wood from Oregon forest for the counter tops. Another great feature was the implementation of an on-site storm water management that helped the project achieve certification.

The project is scheduled for completion in either May or June of this year.
