Colorado Man Who Fixed Up Wrong Condo is Evicted

Jonathan Kyte was living the American Dream. He spent $45,000 on a rundown condo in hopes of renovating it into the masterpiece that he and his wife could call home. Well that dream became a nightmare when he was recently evicted after it was found he was living in the wrong unit.

Due to a mix-up of which unit was actually for sale, Kyte and his wife had been living in the incorrect condo for six months before they found out they were in the wrong unit. Now that would not be that bad but the Kyte’s spent an estimated $30,000 and invested about 2,500 hours of labor fixing up their first home only  to find out it wasn’t theirs.

They thought they might have some recourse by going to court but in the end, the rightful owner won and evicted the Kytes from their masterpiece. To add insult to injury, the condo was appraised during the court proceedings and came in at more than three times the original purchase price.

I guess this goes to show that you really need to check out which unit you really own before you move in and sock your life savings into renovations.

That was awful. Agreed in full in this one “you really need to check out which unit you really own before you move in and sock your life savings into renovations”
