Hey, there’s some major activity going on in Greensboro that may impact the local economy there. First of all, the city is boasting expanding businesses that will bring in new jobs in the ballpark of 2000 in the very near future. They admit, however, experiencing hardship due to the state of the economy.
On that note, the city has presented a very unique initiative to its citizens called the Greensboro Currency Project. They’re considering cranking out some “green” of their own. [...]
Greensboro’s motto is Gate City. The city acquired its moniker in the 1800s when rail became a prominent means of transportation. The city’s train station experienced 60 stops a day.
With a population of 258,671 residents, it is the 3rd largest city in North Carolina. Greensboro is settled into the Piedmont region of central North Carolina. It was named after American forces commander at the Battle of Guilford Court House, Major General Nathanael Green.
