Massachusetts’ Division of Banks (MDB) received two formal complaints from a non-profit specialist in foreclosure prevention against Your Home Mortgage (YHM). YHM is also the subject of a lawsuit initiated by Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) for alleged discrimination and unfair and deceptive practices against a YHM client, Jaime Alvarez.

Three mortgage brokers formerly from the Portland area were charged with mortgage fraud by a federal grand jury earlier this year.
Michael Han, Joel Surprenant and Benjamin Lucescu were each charged with one count of acquiring mortgage loans by falsifying loan applications and with fraudulent intent. On September 19, the San Francisco Tenants Union (SFTU) celebrated 30 years of keeping thousands of SF families in housing that they could afford. The event started off with counseling stations scattered throughout the city. When the union was originally organized those 30 years ago, organizers simply set up tables on street corners to inform everyone of their rights as tenants and to assist individuals in addressing issues with their landlords.
