Let’s Have a Little Fun Finding a House on Roost.com (and you might win a Kodak Zi8)

Roost wants to make someone’s day again. Just like we did in August when we announced that Margaret Chaidez won a Flip Mino HD Camcorder for participating in our feedback contest.

This time, we want to give away a Kodak Zi8 Digital Video Camera and we want to have a little fun in the process. Introducing the “Where’s Waldo” Home finding contest on Roost.com. The concept is pretty simple.

1. The members of the Roost Team pick a house that is currently on Roost.com and is on the local MLS where the house is located.
2. We provide clues and a video tutorial on using Roost.com to narrow your search to find the house we picked.
3. You use those clues and the video tutorial to find the winning house and send an email to derek.overbey@roost.com with Your Name, Your Email Address, the Address of the Home, the Asking Price of the Home and the MLS ID#.

The first one to submit all of the correct information wins the Kodak Zi8 Video Camera. Sounds pretty easy doesn’t it! Well we’re not going to give you all the clues at once so you’ll have to check back often to narrow your choices but we know you will have fun searching for that hidden winning house on Roost.com. Stay tuned, the first clue is coming up soon.

CLUES TO FIND THE HOUSE (I made a video on how to narrow your house search by using our filters)

1. The house is located in one of the cities in the top 15 Metropolitan Statistical Areas of the United States of America (psst…you can find out what those are by checking out Wikipedia.)
2. This particular house is located in a city that currently has approximately 30,000 MLS listings on roost.com.
3. This particular house has a listing price of more than $1,000,000
4. This particular house has 4+ Bedrooms.
5. This particular house has 3+ Bathrooms.
6. The particular house must have photos on roost.com.
7. This particular house was built after 1960.
8. This particular house has more than 2100 square feet of living area.
9. This particular house has a fireplace.
10. This particular house has a deck.
11. This particular house is a Single Family Home.
12. This particular house has been on the market for less than 29 days.
13. A more specific price of this particular house is between $1,900,000 and $2,300,000.
14. LAST CLUE – This particular house has a zip code of 60614-2016.

  • No Nicole. There is only one house that will fit all of the clues that I provide. You need to send me an email when you think you have it and I will announce the winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck.

    Are we to assume there is *only* one of each of the amenities? If not, there's no way to narrow down the search. If so, there's still no house that absolutely fits all the criteria (unless we make some assumptions)...
  • If you have the amenities checked that I mentioned (deck and fireplace) and use the final three clues I will give today, there is only one house that fits all the clues that will be given. I promise. I spent a lot of time finding one house.
