My Quest for Tuba City, AZ

With a name like “Tuba City,” I was thinking the city might have an interesting background and maybe even some interesting real estate. So, I took a gander at it on the Internet, searched out some photos and locked in on some of the local real estate.

What I found is that, unlike the name, the city is not full of tubas. On the contrary, the city’s name has nothing to do with tubas at all. In Navajo, the name translates to water scattered. It’s no wonder, with all the underground springs in the area. It is also the largest community in the Navajo Indian Reservation.

With that in mind, it’s clear that the area would display strong southwest Native American culture. You hear it in the language, which is predominantly Navajo. Less than one-third of the community speaks English somewhat. It’s also evident in the beautiful architecture, the names of businesses and the names of community members.

Homes are no less impressive in this area. You’ll find a variety of home styles here to meet your real estate tastes and needs. There is even land available if you are in the market to build.

What’s cool is that the city sits in the Painted Desert, it’s not that far from Grand Canyon National Park and it’s got dinosaur tracks. Who can resist all that?

If you’re an outdoors person, this area would be ideal for you. Even if you’re not, it would be hard to overlook with innumerous vistas, rock formations that jut out of the ground and beautiful red, well, everything everywhere you look.

It’s an interesting place, this Tuba City. If you’ve got a love for the southwest and Native American culture – all the hallmarks are right here – you should check out the real estate in this area.
