Nampa, ID Real Estate Broker Suspected of Embezzlement

Jerry Gunstream, a prominent commercial real estate broker, is being investigated for embezzlement; although, no arrest has been made. Idaho State Police searched Gunstream’s Nampa residence as part of the investigation. Few details are being released as to why Gunstream is being targeted; although, state police officials verified that two search warrants were served earlier this month.

Georgia Bowman, Nampa Chamber of Commerce CEO and President, is married to Gunstream – for now. She began divorce proceedings after finding out that her husband was being scrutinized, and claims she played no role whatsoever in her husband’s business.

In 2000, Jerry Gunstream founded Gunstream Commercial Real Estate. In July of the same year, the company joined as an affiliate with Coldwell Banker Commercial. According to the company’s website, the agency has 56 properties for sale and listed 51 for lease in Treasure Valley. Properties and leases listed include retail, office and industrial space.

Gunstream’s got a good reputation. He moved to Nampa from Denver in 1992 and worked for Northwest Nazarene University for several years. His responsibilities included expanding the campus via real estate acquisitions, raising funds for building new facilities and developing community relations.

During that time, he became involved with the Idaho Legislature. Serving as a registered lobbyist for several years, he involved himself in community and government relations. Gunstream served as Nampa Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 1997.

He also served as director of finance and administration for the City of Nampa from 1998 to 2000. Due to his past service to the city, Iowa State Police (ISP) took over the investigation from the Nampa Police Department based on a conflict of interest.

Several items were taken from the home by investigators. No specific details have been released regarding the items or the investigation.
