Looking for a Mile High Home? Look No Further Than Denver, CO

Denver is the capital of, and the city with the largest population in, the great state of Colorado. Using the adjective “major” is an understatement when referencing this city. Denver is so big, the city is also the boundaries for Denver County. Now, that’s some kind of major!

Founded as a small mining town in 1858, Denver evolved into the thriving metropolis it is today. Due to its size and central location, this city boasts a plethora of federal businesses and several significant distribution companies. In fact, you won’t find more government jobs any place else other than Washington, D.C.

You’ll be living large in this city. What with all the culture, convention centers, climate and location that make the city so very conducive to year-round activities, there’s always something to do in Denver. With snow skiing in the winter or kayaking, hiking, climbing or camping in the summer, you can be busy outdoors in all seasons.

The Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, world-renowned Denver Art Museum, Santa Fe Arts District and several nationally recognized museums provide more events than you’d ever be able to attend. Only three cities in the U.S. have teams that represent all eight of the major U.S. sports leagues. Denver is fortunate enough to be one of those three cities. The several sports stadiums located in the city are as impressive as the team representation.

Denver is 2nd in the nation in regards to breweries and 1st in the nation for beer production per capita. You’ll find on-site breweries in many of the local restaurants. The larger breweries, like Coors, offer tours to the public.

One of the most inspiring programs Denver initiated was the precedent the city set with its 10-year plan to end homelessness in the city. Another precedent Denver is noted for was to be the first major U.S. city to legalize the private use of less than one ounce of marijuana for adults 21 and over. W-o-w, ma-a-an! Possession of the substance, however, continues to be treated similar to a speeding ticket with no jail time and fines up to $100.00. So, don’t get the wrong idea.. Law makers are not advocating recklessness.

So many things set this city apart. The culmination of available events, indoor and outdoor activities, innovative resolutions to society’s challenges and being a prominent cultural and economic hub all contribute to making this major city stand out from the rest.

You’d expect no less from the real estate, too! Real estate rocks in Denver. Though the city is grandnormous, it’s broken into distinct, smaller neighborhoods. Check out historic and trendy LoDo or Golden Triangle in the Civic Center. Home prices start at around $200,000 and climb like the mountains that surround the city, priced into the tens of millions.

If you’re looking to live in a world class city, look no further. Denver’s world class culture and good old, home town neighborhoods are just what the doctor ordered. Your family will thank you!
