Condos are Hard to Come By in Delaware

Single family homes dominate the state of Delaware. Out of the 7,043 properties listed in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that are available today, only 362 of them are condos. I’m not sure if this is due to the fact that it is the second smallest state behind only Rhode Island and there is no more room to build condos or if they just believe single family homes is the way to go.

But the condos that are available via the MLS are quite extreme from top to bottom. On the high-end, you can pick up a two bedroom, two and a half bathroom renovated gem in Rockland, DE for a cool $1.7 million. But if that is a little out of your reach, you could always cruise over to Wilmington, DE where you could pick up a slightly older one bedroom, one bathroom condo for a much more reasonable $55,000.

So even though you only have a few hundred condo choices in the entire state, you do have a pretty large selection from top to bottom within that selection. Take a look for yourself at the Roost website.
