For nearly $8 million, most people would expect a 15,000 square foot mansion on tens if not hundreds of acres. But a condo? Well a condo recently went to settlement on the 46th floor at the Residences at Two Liberty Place in downtown Philadelphia for a record $7.678 million. It is thought that it is the highest price ever paid for a condominium in the city of Philadelphia.
So what does the $7.678 million get you? Almost 6,000 square feet of wall-to-wall luxury and even includes a balcony that is more than 2,000 square feet. And the views, forget about it (done in my best Philadelphia accent). They are incredible and allow a person an unobstructed view of Center City and, on a clear day, more than 25 miles beyond in any direction.
Even though building officials would not disclose the name of the buyer, it is believed that it is media magnate H. Chase Lenfest, chairman and CEO of Lenfest Enterprises L.L.C., of West Chester, son of philanthropist H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest.
