Would Buying a Nashville Condo be the Right Purchase for You?

Take a look at the condo listings available in Nashville and you’ll see a diverse range of properties from historic lofts to high-rise condos. Having lived in New York for many years I have always loved converted warehouses and loft spaces, so I have my eye on a property located at 162 4TH AVE N APT 205, Nashville. But Nashville you say?

I love Nashville. I was there this time last year for the Country Music Half Marathon and was impressed by how colorful, vibrant and alive the city is. Inevitably I asked myself the question, where would I live if I moved to Nashville?  This question sparked a big debate among friends and locals who argued in favor of neighborhoods such as Goodletsville, Hendersonville, Germantown and Hillsboro. But for me, I think Downtown Nashville is the way to go.

For starters, it would mean easy access to all of the honky-tonk bars and live music scene. They don’t call it the Music City for nothing and any night of the week you could find me perched up at the bar at Laylas Bluegrass Inn, a favorite among the locals and a great locale for country, rockabilly and bluegrass music. Then there are the restaurants, annual events, festivals and sporting events. Who wouldn’t want to live Downtown?

In fact, in recent years, revitalizing Nashville’s downtown area has been a focus for the city and the Nashville Downtown Partnership, a private sector non-profit whose core purpose is to make Downtown Nashville the compelling urban center in the Southeast in which to LIVE, WORK, PLAY and INVEST. Downtown living is making a comeback with more than 3,000 residential units currently being built and city planners paving the way for thousands more. In fact, downtown Nashville is comprised of several neighborhoods targeting the upwardly mobile professional who wants to be close to the action. If this sounds like you, then you can think about living in SoBro, the area just south of Broadway near the old honky-tonk bars (that’s me!), Rolling Mill Hill, the Central Business District, Music District, or The Gulch, which is a renovated rail-yard and warehouse district.

    I'm very interested to know if you actually moved to this unit or not. I was taken back by the lack of parking and the high taxes/association fees. Do you have rooftop access??
