Now it may not be my personal cup of tea, but hunting and fishing are an integral part of some people’s lives. This is even so important to a few that they seriously make real estate purchases based on the type of outdoor recreation they will have around them.

Now many states claim to be ideal for the sportsman. Heck, Louisiana even has “the sportsman’s paradise” embedded on their license plates. But many anglers and hunters might be deferring that “sportsman paradise” title to Kentucky thanks to the dedicated efforts of forward thinking biologists, experienced fish and wildlife staff and hard-working conservation groups that have provided outdoor opportunities that couldn’t have been imagined 25 years ago.

So if you’re a true outdoorsman and usually have hunting and fishing licenses for every season of the year, Kentucky needs to be on your short list of states you might want to call home.
