Roost versus Google

We’ve been doing some side-by-side comparisons lately.  As many of you know, Roost.com is the most comprehensive and accurate search engine for homes bar none.  We’re demonstrating that fact in a series of videos. Most of the popular search engines for homes on the web today are based on a very different model than Roost.com.  Roost.com, through partnerships with local real estate brokers and local MLS boards, provides consumers access to all MLS listings in the markets we serve – as well as homes for sale by owner and new construction listings.  Most other sites receive listings from various sources including listing aggregators, syndicators, real estate agents,  brokers & often many other sources.  This model provides the appearance of a lot of homes for sale but, as you’ll see in these videos it provides consumers with an incomplete and inaccurate snapshot of the homes for sale in any given market.

Here at Roost we think it’s inexcusable to see anything less than all the homes for sale in the areas you’re looking.

Here’s the first one – Roost versus Google.

If you’re interested in seeing a comparison let us know.

  • Even though I like Roost's concept, I don't agree with their business practices of putting down their competition.

Guess they've been watching too many Presidential commercials and debates.
  • Hi Chad,
Thanks for the comment -- I’m glad we’re having this conversation. Our goal is to let consumers know that there are content-related challenges with some of the real estate search sites online today. We’re certainly not perfect but we’re definitely striving to be – which is why Roost.com is being built one community at a time, focusing on quality over quantity to provide users with a superior home-search experience. Roost is a near-perfect representation of the MLS, which is the gold standard for listings that consumers can depend on.
