Amen, Dennis.

The public needs to be educated that real estate agents/sites with IDX have the BEST of breed. And the 3rd party sites have to come clean on the extent of their local coverage, or lack thereof -- the public is entitled to know this.

This is a great topic to get exposed to the public and Joe's comments above and his article on Sellsius should be read as well.

Unfortunately in our un-perfect society the best is not always at the top. I hope Google heard that :)

With the online real estate world changing quickly the public is mislead easily with the gimmicks and gadgets that some of those 3rd party sites provide.

Simply put, If it doesn't say IDX at the bottom of a real estate search results page its not the real thing! Move on until you find a real estate search results that says IDX at the bottom.

The Techcrunch post goes to the heart of the real estate search matter for the public--- how good is your local coverage? Tell us!

TruZilla has been hiding behind their "we've got 3 million listings" perception marketing tactic to lure consumers to the site. It's about time they revealed to consumers how good, or pitiful, is their local MLS coverage. Consumers ought to know, for transparency's sake.

I have called for Trulia and Zillow to publicly disclose their local MLS coverage on their websites.
