So I was going to write another recap of the last two days to close out the Inman Real Estate Connect SF show but something happened as I started to put fingertips to keyboard….we won the 2008 Inman Innovator Award in the Best New Technology category.

Now this may be hard to believe, but with the competition of this category including such cutting-edge companies as BlueRoof360, Mixpo, Obeo and Terabitz, no one around here thought we would be walking away with that little glass award.

I was out in the audience when Brad Inman asked the nominees to stand when they heard their name called. As I looked to my left I saw Alex Lange, our Chief Technology Officer, standing after I did when Brad called our name. The next couple of seconds seemed to go on forever while everyone waited for Brad to announce the winner. I didn’t even hear our name when Brad called it out. All I saw was those two beautiful big eyes on our logo.

Alex Chang, the CEO and co-founder of Roost.com, had this to say about this incredible honor:

“We are very proud and grateful of being recognized as an innovative company in the eyes of the Inman News staff. It’s a great testimony to all the hard work by our team, and all the great support from our partners and clients.  Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this great achievement!”

Alex Lange, the CTO and co-founder of Roost.com added this:

“I’m very humbled for this award, but even more by my team.  I asked them to build a product that amazed our consumers while providing value for our partners.  They embraced that request and turned it into a mission.   They amaze me every day and we’re just getting started!”

Hopefully we can keep on innovating in the near and long term and live up to this great honor.

What a way to end a Kick Butt Conference!
