SAN FRANCISCOMay 14, 2008 Roost, the most comprehensive search engine for homes, has appointed Drew Izzo as Chief Marketing Officer. Izzo brings more than 15 years of experience in designing and implementing creative, integrated marketing campaigns to drive increased acquisition and revenue generation in the consumer technology/Web 2.0 industry.

At Roost, Izzo will focus on creating an integrated, viral marketing strategy, to maximize traffic to Roost’s innovative and comprehensive real estate search platform. Roost.com offers consumers an intuitive, fast and fun search experience, complete with the most comprehensive property listings in their local area, to help them find the right home fast.

“Drew has a deep understanding of what drives online consumer behavior and can translate this into innovative marketing strategies that drive maximum traffic and revenues,” said Alex Chang, CEO of Roost. “I’m excited that he’s joining our team, as we continue to roll out our platform across the U.S.”

Izzo joins Roost from Ancestry.com, the leading online source for family history information, where he served as Vice President of Marketing for The Americas. In this role, he was responsible for all consumer marketing efforts. During this time, Izzo launched numerous online and offline marketing and PR initiatives, that helped grow revenues from under $40 million to more than $180 million annually.

Prior to this role, Izzo served in other senior marketing and customer-focused roles at Ancestry.com, including Director of Customer Relationship Management and Retention, and Director of Acquisition Marketing and Analytics. In these roles, key accomplishments included growing Ancestry.com’s online business by 173% in his first six months in charge of acquisition, and the creation of an industry-leading retention and CRM strategy.

Before joining Ancestry.com, Izzo managed global marketing for Novell, drove partner marketing at WebMiles.com, and also ran his own start-up, Wireless Cable Systems, before a successful sale. He holds an MBA from Westminster College’s Gore School of Business.

“I’m passionate about Web 2.0 technologies and the positive impact they can have on consumers’ lives,” said Drew Izzo. “Searching for a new home can be a stressful, challenging experience, so what attracted me to Roost was the fact that everything has been designed with a fast, easy and painless search experience in mind. I’m excited to join a team that is so dedicated to improving the home search experience, and one that can provide consumers with the most comprehensive and up-to-date homes for sale content on the Web.”
